Nature will take care of the rest.Pythium blight occurred by Pythium aphanidermatum on chewing fescue cv. I have not watered since Saturday, and the grass is doing just fine. If I had shown more restraint with the water, I likely would have avoided the blight altogether. The big lesson for me was about watering. But, I am glad I shot only the small area with fungicide and had such immediate results. I will mix clover into the new area this fall for consistency and preference. The rest of the yard - and old mix of this and that, with plenty of clover - is doing just fine. I needed to get something growing quick before a big upcoming fundraiser. The patch I planted is a relatively small area that was destroyed during some recent construction. If not for the polar vortex, I would not have any new grass to write about. I saw the long term weather forecast and decided I had a good window to plant, and jumped on it. it was not as accidental as a known risk-taking venture that I lucked out on. Paint your door, but make sure it is a color that makes you happy every time you see it. And of course line the driveway with colorful flowers. If you are much of a gardener, you can also add some pops of seasonal color between the existing shrubbery in the front. Opening up the porch to make it welcoming seems like a good idea. I think you could use some stacking blocks or something to put the pots on to make them appear the same height as the steps, to give the impression of wider steps, and trim up the plant there next to the porch. Also it looks like it is clematis next to the door? I love clematis! You could also add pots next to the steps in front of the clematis. I could see you doing that to the left of your garage door. She used giant pots of grasses and flowers to break it up which did make it more cheerful. I have a neighbor who Hated that the front of her house was mostly garage doors and driveway. Pretty Cute! Lucky you! I understand you are looking for some somewhat temporary fixes until the real changes happen. I really like hearing from the community here on Houzz. I am exploring that option but cost may be prohibitive. I really like the gothic asian screen that was on a site that lefty47 referred me to. Its started out one way and then ended another so I am prepared to change direction if there is a more feasible way to dress those windows. I have been working on this look for thirteen years now. I refinished the wood and then got a splendid upholstery job done on them after my wife and I agreed on a wonderful Fabricut velvet after having fought over how to cover them for almost two years! We're still married eight years later by the way. They were in good shape but needed some attention. They were Milo Baughman club chairs that I found in this fellas basement after responding to a Craigslist add. I am so pleased that you find the chairs attractive. I'm on the hunt for combos that will work in the room. We seem to be moving toward combining blinds/and print curtain panels (probably custom). There are a few bamboo, natural grass, linen and colored raw silk examples that we'll be considering. I am actually looking at samples from the Shade Store as soon as they arrive. It has nothing to do with internet etiquette.ĭear Sandi Perry. 'Learn to use the internet properly.' ? Actually, it would seem that what you really were trying to say, is please follow my personal rules for how to interact on Houzz. So, in reality, whether someone is responding to an old thread or a new thread, they are all looking for help or a conversation. Why? Because the subject matter is a question or topic that is not currently being discussed and it is the subject that I have an interest in or a question about. And even more perplexing, is the suggestion that somehow pulling up old threads is wrong. First of all, 'learn some manners'? To call someone's post 'pointless tripe' is really not a good example of good manners. I'm just not understanding this response from tatts, at all. I saw this new post the other day and had no problem with it at all and went on about my business. I don't usually follow this forum, but apparently at some point I posted to this thread, so I get all further posts.
